Adam Cole & MJF Advance In AEW Blind Eliminator Tournament

MJF and Adam Cole move onto the next round of the AEW Blind Eliminator Tournament

Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Adam Cole make an effective tag team, it has emerged.

MJF and Cole teamed together in the first round of the AEW Blind Eliminator Tournament on the July 5 edition of Dynamite as they took on The Butcher and Matt Menard. After a short match, Cole picked up the win for his team, decking Matt Menard with the Boom for the victory.

As it was Cole's birthday, MJF led the crowd in singing Happy Birthday for the former ROH World Champion and Friedman even had plans to shove his tag team partner's face into a birthday cake before Cole saw it coming and sent MJF crashing into the cake instead.

Elsewhere in the tournament, Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin defeated former AEW World Tag Team Champions Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland to advance. Cole and MJF will face the winners of Big Bill and Brian Cage vs. Trent Beretta and Matt Sydal in the semi-finals. Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin, meanwhile, will face the winner of Matt Hardy and Jeff Jarrett vs. Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia.

Cole and Friedman were previously rivals and their AEW World Title Eliminator went to a 30-minute time-limit draw.
