Adam Copeland Debuts At AEW WrestleDream, Aligns Against Christian Cage

"The Rated R Superstar" is All Elite

Adam Copeland debuted at AEW WrestleDream on Sunday night in Seattle, appearing at the conclusion of the evening's main event between Christian Cage and Darby Allin for the TNT championship.

In a Two out of Three Falls match, Christian retained his title over Allin, after Nick Wayne turned on Allin during the final fall. After the match, both men continued attacking Allin until Sting went to make the save. Luchasaurus ran in to make it three on two, and the heels laid Sting out. As the three tried to set Sting up for a one man Conchairto, the lights went out.

A vignette played of a man in a leather jacket driving to the arena. At the conclusion of the vignette, the lights came back on, and Alter Bridge's "Metalingus" played, signalling the arrival of the former Edge.

Copeland initially teased aligning with Christian and the other heels, offering to join in on the Conchairto. Instead, he attacked both Wayne and Luchasaurus with the chair, and speared both men while Christian fled. The pay-per-view ended with Copeland staring down Christian from the ring, before shaking hands with both Sting and Allin.

Tony Khan tweeted, "Welcome to the @AEW team! "Rated R Superstar" Adam Copeland @EdgeRatedR is ALL ELITE! Thank you all watching #AEWWrestleDream TONIGHT!"

In addition to entering to "Metalingus", Copeland had his signature entrance pose with pyro, and was indeed referred to on air as "The Rated R Superstar".

Copeland's WWE contract expired on Saturday. He last appeared for the company on the August 18 SmackDown, defeating Sheamus.
