AEW Backstage Reaction To Tony Khan's Dynamite Angle

Backstage reaction to Tony Khan's AEW Dynamite angle revealed

The All Elite Wrestling locker room were very positive about the angle that saw Tony Khan be laid out by The Elite on the April 24 edition of Dynamite. The angle saw Tony Khan reinstate Jack Perry, with the two men celebrating together before Perry sucker punched Khan in the gut. The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada then made their way to the ring, at which point Matthews and Nicholas Jackson levelled Khan with a Tony Khan Driver.

After being asked about the backstage reaction to the angle on a Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp said: "A lot of positivity. People are realistic, they know that Tony Khan is a character that gets attention and heat and the like and they thought it was executed well, based on the people I talked to. I didn't hear of anybody with an issue."

Tony Khan proceeded to appear in the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Draft room throughout the weekend in a neck brace, selling the effects of the angle. He also appeared on NFL Network to discuss the angle and proceeded to call WWE the "Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling."

A kayfabe update on AEW Collision noted Khan had sustained "head and neck injuries". Speculation has suggested either Kenny Omega or The Young Bucks will become the on-screen authority figures on AEW TV in Khan's storyline absence.
