AEW Considering Running A Multi-Day Event

Multi-day wrestling events being considered by AEW

Some of the biggest wrestling shows of the year are now multi-day events. WrestleMania is now a two-day affair, whilst NJPW Wrestle Kingdom and AAA TripleMania have ran as multi-day experiences.

With All Elite Wrestling eyeing up their biggest show ever with All In at Wembley Stadium on August 27, and ahead of the monumental announcement, AEW President Tony Khan admitted that the company could one day also run multi-day events, saying the following to Sports Illustrated:

“We could do one event spanning a weekend and we could also do multiple events across a week,” said Khan. “It’s something we’re considering, especially as we keep entering so many new debut markets. We’re looking forward to expanding and holding more huge events.”

Whilst AEW PPVs have on the whole been critical successes, some have criticised the shows for being overly long, a complaint aimed at WWE WrestleMania events prior to 2020. Since WWE have made the move to keep WrestleMania as a two-night deal, fans and critics alike have been positive about the change, with shorter runtimes and more focused cards proving a hit with audiences, whilst helping alleviate crowd fatigue.
