AEW Grand Slam 2023 made history for All Elite Wrestling.

The latest edition of Grand Slam was held on Wednesday, September 20 at New York City's Arthur Ashe Stadium. AEW had initially struggled to move tickets for the event, with only 7,493 tickets having been distributed as of Friday, September 15. Ticket sales improved following a media blitz over the weekend and tickets distributed had risen to 8,636 by Tuesday night.

The media blitz continued on Wednesday and fans didn't stop buying tickets. By showtime, over 11,000 fans were reportedly in attendance for Grand Slam, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider. Walkup ticket sales were the highest "day of event" sales in AEW history. WrestleTix reported just ahead of Grand Slam that 9,969 tickets had been distributed for the event.

MJF even referenced the media blitz following his win over Samoa Joe in the main event of Dynamite Grand Slam, urging fans to buy tickets earlier for next year's show so he doesn't have to almost throw his neck out doing media.

Attendance was still down from past editions of Grand Slam. Last year's show had a paid attendace of 12,600, while the inaugural Grand Slam had an attendance of 20,177.
