The AEW Women's Tag Team Title match on Wednesday night's edition of Dynamite had a different ending than originally planned due to an injury during the contest.

The Babes of Wrath of Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale defended the belts against Megabad's Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford on Dynamite. Penelope Ford suffered an injury while the match was ongoing, however, and she was ruled out during the commercial break.

Fightful Select has reported that Ford's injury resulted in an audible being called mid-match that led to Lena Kross running in to cause the disqualification. This was done to avoid having the match continue with the heel Megan Bayne working from underneath against the babyfaces in Nightingale and Cameron.

It is unknown who was originally scheduled to win the title match. The audible caused immediate adjustments to Dynamite, but Fightful noted they hadn't heard of anything else drastic that occurred due to Ford's injury.

Penelope Ford only returned from injury in January 2026, having suffered a UCL tear in October 2025 that forced her to miss the AEW Women's Tag Team Title tournament. Ford previously spent two years out of action between October 2022 and October 2024.
