AEW: Dynamite Results - December 01 2021

All the action from Georgia

AEW returned to Georgia for Dynamite, and with it came another hometown hero for Bryan Danielson to batter.

This time it was Dark Order’s ‘Number Five’ Alan Angels who felt the harsh end of Danielson’s boot, as ‘The American Dragon’ swept him to one side, and taunted AEW World Champion Adam Page - who was sat at commentary. John Silver prevented Hangman and Danielson from coming to blows, before it was set that the two will fight for the gold at Winter is Coming on December 15.

We had the last quarter final match in the TBS Championship Tournament as Kris Statlander and Ruby Soho fought for a place in the semis. Pre-match Jade Cargill and Smart Mark Sterling taunted Thunder Rosa ahead of their Semi Final match. Riott and Statlander went back and forth in front of a hyped crowd, but eventually Soho came through with the victory, reversing a Big Bang Theory into a roll-up for the three. The two shook hands, before Nyla Rose attacked Soho, with Vickie Guerrero preventing Statlander from making the quick save.

CM Punk and Lee Moriarty had a spirited match, with Moriarty threatening to pull off one of the upsets of the year as he controlled portions of the bout. Eventually Punk got the win with the GTS, as MJF lambasted him on commentary. ‘The Salt of the Earth’ then took the mic to continue aggravating Punk, vowing to be better than ‘Bret in Canada, Piper in Portland and Punk in Chicago.’ Before Punk could lay a glove on MJF, Wardlow stood in his way, and it seems we will get a clash between the two sometime in the near future.

Team Taz and Lio Rush aired their grievances ahead of the Dynamite Diamond Ring battle royal, after Taz cut his own version of Steiner Math. Rush said he’s a fighter and he’ll overcome all of Taz’s goons and emerge victorious.

And in Dynamite’s main event, hometown hero Cody Rhodes received another mixed reaction before he and Andrade El Idolo had an Atlanta Street Fight. This was full of plunder (baybeh) as everything from sledgehammers to golden shovels to tasers came into play. Andrade looked to have the match in the bag, but Brandi Rhodes appeared, set a table on fire, and Cody got the win with a reverse superplex through the fire for the win.

Elsewhere; Tensions continued between Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter, before it was announced that Hayter will take on Riho on next week’s Dynamite. Wardlow squashed AC Adams. The Superkliq beat down Orange Cassidy. Miro questioned his God in a terrifying manner. Tony Nese spoke on his upcoming TNT Championship match with Sammy Guevara at Rampage. An eyepatch sporting PAC will team with Penta to take on FTR on Rampage. 2.0 and Daniel Garcia beat down Chris Jericho with chairs. And Darby Allin and Sting put The Gunn Club to the sword.

Full results:

  • Bryan Danielson def. Alan Angels
  • CM Punk def. Lee Moriarty
  • Wardlow def. AC Adams
  • Sting & Darby Allin vs. The Gunn Club
  • Ruby Soho def. Kris Statlander - TBS Championship Tournament Quarterfinal
