AEW Files Trademark For "AEW Plus"

AEW filed a trademark under the "streaming" category

AEW have recently filed for a very intriguing trademark. It has emerged that back on the 24th July, AEW filed for the “AEW Plus” trademark, and it has been filed under the category of streaming, raising questions about the potential future of AEW content and how it is given to fans. As noted by Fightful, the filing reads as follows.

“Mark For: AEW PLUS trademark registration is intended to cover the category of streaming of professional wrestling entertainment video material on the Internet.”

AEW doesn’t currently have its own streaming service, though AEW Plus is the name used by the company for their FITE TV subscription, in which international fans get access to the entire library of AEW television and their weekly shows such as Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision.

It hasn’t been made clear what AEW intends to do with this trademark, and whether it will be the name of a potential streaming platform. Currently, AEW uses the likes of Bleacher Report and FITE to stream their PPVs, though it isn’t known if this will change in the future.
