AEW, IMPACT, And More Named As "Competitors" In TKO Registration Statement

TKO names as AEW, IMPACT, NJPW, and ROH as competitors

The WWE-UFC merger to become TKO was finalised over the last week, and with it came all the usual legal paperwork when something like this takes place. For example, it was necessary for TKO, as a publicly traded company, to list some risk factors in an SEC registration statement.

Within this, the topic of competitors in the market was discussed, and among those mentioned are professional wrestling promotions such as AEW, NJPW, IMPACT Wrestling, and ROH.

“We face competition from a variety of other domestic and foreign companies. We also face competition from alternative providers of the content and events that we offer, including Bellator, M-1 Global, Professional Fighters League, Combate Global, Invicta FC, Cage Warriors, AMC Fight Nights, ONE Championship, Rizin Fighting Federation, Absolute Championship Akhmat, Pancrase, Caged Steel, Eagle Fighting Championship, KSW, Extreme Fighting Championship, All Elite Wrestling, Impact Wrestling, Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro-Wrestling and from other forms of media, entertainment and leisure activities in a rapidly changing and increasingly fragmented environment.”

Whilst there is likely no danger to WWE’s product or TKO as a whole from potential competitors, it is made aware that growing brands or even new ones from sports leagues or entertainment companies could pose a potential risk to demand and business.
