AEW Lead Announcer Jim Ross Critical Of Fyter Fest Pre-Show

Bah Gawd!

Following on from Double Or Nothing back on May 25, AEW Fyter Fest took place on June 29 from the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.

While the main card had a few stellar bouts that included the likes of Jon Moxley vs. Joey Janela, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega against The Lucha Brothers and Laredo Kid, and Cody going up against Darby Allin, the pre-show wasn't received so well by fans who saw the event.

That pre-show included the triple threat tag team match involving Best Friends, SoCal Uncensored, and Private Party, Allie against Leva Bates, and most crucially in terms of JR's comments, Michael Nakazawa vs. Alex Jebailey - the CEO of CEO (Community Effort Orlando gaming event).

Jim appeared on a recent edition of Busted Open Radio and revealed he wasn't too keen on what he saw: "Honestly, I wasn't crazy about it, I do not think it sold enough of what we were doing on the main show.

"I didn't think it was what we needed to be doing. Now, I like comedies, when I'm drinking those are my go-to. I think we have to be selling a good sampling of what we do in the main show. If you have a pregame show for a pay-per-view, those matches shouldn't just be filler, they should be something."
