AEW President Tony Khan Reveals Disappointment At Vince McMahon Being Revealed As WWE's Higher Power

Khan: "Aw, son of a b*tch"

Ahead of last week's AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan spoke with PWInsider about living up to the expectations of fans when teasing a surprise arrival in AEW.

Both Keith Lee and Jay White made their debuts for the company in a bumper episode, with Lee's surprise appearance especially under the microscope after being hyped up so much by Khan on social media.

Khan was asked about booking these scenarios after growing up such a massive fan of the business: "The last thing you want to do is have something built up and then people be disappointed." he said.

Khan then recalled his disappointment at seeing Vince McMahon revealed to be the Higher Power in WWE during the Attitude Era: "I remember when I was a kid and the higher power turned out to be Vince, that was very disappointing because at school we had spent so much time speculating who it might be and I think our big fear is that it was just going to be Vince."

Lee's debut, where he toppled Isiah Kassidy inside four-and-a-half minutes, has received universal praise from fans.
