AEW Provide Update On Paul Wight's In-Ring Status

Don't expect to see Paul Wight back in the ring

Paul Wight returned to the ring for a televised match for the first time in nearly two years on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday, teaming up with Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Kota Ibushi in the “Like A Dragon Street Fight” against Konosuke Takeshita, Brian Cage, Kyle Fletcher, and Powerhouse Hobbs.

During the match, Paul Wight and Powerhouse Hobbs took their brawl to the parking lot, finding themselves atop a crate. Hobbs hoisted Wight up for a powerslam, throwing him on the hood of a car, sending him crashing into class, car, and onto the floor in a brutal bump, especially for the aged veteran.

When Wight returned to the ring, it wasn’t clear how much he would be featured on AEW programming, but during last night’s Full Gear PPV, an update was provided on his status. The commentary team revealed that Wight would be out “indefinitely” following this moment. They used this to further hype up the dominance of Hobbs following his Don Callis Family allegiance.
