AEW Rampage Match Scrapped After Wrestler Refuses To Take Loss

Plans are always subject to change, especially in pro wrestling.

The October 27 edition of AEW Rampage was noticeably light on in-ring action, with just three matches taking place on the show. Per a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a fourth match was supposed to take place but was cancelled when one of the wrestlers booked refused to take the loss.

The match in question was reportedly set to see Komander defeat Metalik in singles action, but the match was cancelled as Metalik refused to put Komander over. No reason has bee given as to why Metalik refused, but did lose to Komander on ROH TV on October 14, and it could be a case of not wanting to do back-to-back jobs to the same opponent in such a short space of time.

Metalik works regularly with AEW/ROH, and it’s unknown at this point in time if his apparent refusal to do business will hurt his standing with the company.

Rampage usually consists of at least four match, but the October 27 edition instead featured Mike Santana defeating Ortiz in a Street Fight, Abadon defeating Willow Nightingale, Skye Blue, and Anna Jay in four-way action, and Konosuke Takeshita defeating Kyle Fletcher.
