AEW's Brodie Lee Says The Exalted One's Similarities With Vince McMahon Were Not Intentional

He just loves mafia movies...

After Brodie Lee debuted in All Elite Wrestling, numerous vignettes of The Exalted One aired during episodes of Dynamite which seemed to parody Vince McMahon. The segments include mannerisms associated with the Chairman of WWE as Mr. Brodie berated Alex Reynolds for sneezing in front of him and tossed John Silver out of his room for daring to eat a steak before he had finished his meal.

Lee denied his former boss was used as inspiration for The Exalted One during a recent interview on Busted Open Radio and said any similarities with McMahon were not intentional. Brodie instead stated that the character was inspired by mob bosses as he is a fan of mafia movies.

Mr. Brodie said: "I mean, look, you take it however you want. I happen to be a fan of mafia movies, so that’s the way the character was portrayed to me. But with that said, I believe that the leadership style, the results speak for themselves. So, you people can take it any way you want and trust me, I hear you. I hear everybody. But nothing was intentional. I have no reason to hate WWE. No reason to hate Vince McMahon. Nothing like that, but you take it how you want."
