AEW's Darby Allin Reveals His Scariest Coffin Drop: "I Could Have Easily Impaled Myself"

No margin for error for Darby

Darby Allin has established himself as All Elite Wrestling's resident daredevil since the promotion's formation in 2019.

From being thrown down a flight of stairs to being dropped on his head by Brian Cage while trapped inside a body bag, the former TNT Champion hasn't been afraid to put his body on the line for fans' entertainment.

That extends to Darby's Coffin Drop, a finisher where the AEW star launches himself from the top rope back-first onto his prone opponent.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Allin revealed the scariest Coffin Drop he has performed so far was back in July 2021 following his Coffin Match with Ethan Page.

The two men had been engaged in a long, personal feud and Darby put an exclamation point on the rivalry by hitting All Ego with a Coffin Drop while Page was inside the coffin.

"I would say the one to Ethan Page when I had him in the coffin. There was little room for error, and the moment I broke through the coffin, you see the spikes sticking up, I could have easily impaled myself. I could have hit my head on the rim of the coffin too, but there was zero room for error," Darby said.

"People were like did you practice that? I don't know how you practice that, you just gotta [do it]. I didn't know what was going to happen to Ethan, I crashed through the coffin and all I hear is him screaming. I'm like 'well I guess I f*cked him up.' The cameras are not on him while he is in there screaming."

All Elite Wrestling's next pay-per-view, Full Gear, is only hours away and Darby Allin is scheduled to go one-on-one with another of AEW's four pillars in MJF.
