AEW's Tony Khan: Other Shows Present 17 Rematches Between The Same 2 Wrestlers

Khan appears to have hit out at WWE

Tony Khan has seemingly lamented WWE's creative policy of booking numerous rematches.

All Elite Wrestling President Khan has largely avoided presenting an overabundance of rematches since the promotion's inception in 2019, with the four major pay-per-views a year providing the company an opportunity to tell new narratives at each event.

On the other hand, WWE present around 12 pay-per-views a year for their main roster alone, which in turn can lead to multiple rematches between wrestlers as the promotion seek to fill each card.

Khan was questioned on his policy of having four pay-per-views a year that are supplemented by stand-out shows, such as this week's Winter Is Coming, during an interview with the Wrestling Perspective Podcast. He notes that the opposite would be similar to what other promotions offer.

“The flip side of that is you also sometimes see when you’re watching not AEW but other shows, like it goes on forever,” Khan said. “It’s like 17 rematches with the same two people. So there’s no happy medium between what you’re saying.”
