AEW To Make Canada Debut In October

AEW heads to Canada in October

AEW have announced that they are finally set to debut in Canada, with AEW Dynamite and Rampage set for back-to-back nights in Toronto’s Coca Cola Coliseum.

The announcement was made during the July 27 edition of AEW: Dynamite, with AEW set to descend upon Toronto on October 12 and 13 2022, with tickets on sale on August 26.

The Coca Cola Coliseum is home to the Toronto Marlies hockey team - an affiliate of NHL side the Toronto Maple Leafs - and has previously been host to WWE house shows in the city. Chatter online was surprised at AEW running the arena - with an estimated capacity of around 7,500 for wrestling - with many assuming AEW would try for the 20,000 seater Scotiabank Arena in downtown Toronto, home of the Toronto Raptors NBA team.

Despite it being AEW’s debut in the city, and with plenty of fan support and fervour from Canadian wrestling fans, the Coca Cola Coliseum is a safer bet, and with the 2022/2023 NBA season schedule yet to be announced, there is the avoidance of a potential clash with the Raptors.
