Professional wrestling is heavily involved with the reboot of American Gladiators, which will air on Amazon Prime Video. WWE's The Miz has been announced as the host of the show, while former WWE talent Rick Boogs will be one of the gladiators, as will AEW's Wardlow and Kamille, and OVW's Jessie Godderz and J-Rod.
Reports in recent days had noted that tensions within pro wrestling from the WWE vs. AEW rivalry had already caused rumblings of issues with American Gladiators, particularly from one side.
In an update, Fightful Select has reported that sources within WWE hadn't heard of any issues around American Gladiators and they expected the situation to be professional. Talent involved with American Gladiators were reportedly caught off guard when The Miz was announced as the host as they feared AEW would take issue with Mike Mizanin's involvement. Tony Khan's promotion had no issues with WWE's involvement as the show airs on Amazon Prime Video and WWE's integration was just a case of acquiring The Miz as the American Gladiators host.
Filming of American Gladiators is ongoing in Paris, France and is set to wrap up on July 1.
