AEW's Sammy Guevara Injures Himself While Taking Off Shoe
Inner Circle member missed this week's Dynamite...
This week's AEW: Dynamite took place on the Jericho Cruise, with Le Champion himself teaming with Inner Circle members Proud and Powerful to defeat The Jungle Express. As always, The Big Hurt himself Jake Hager was at ringside.
The only Inner Circle missing from this week's show was Sammy Guevara, who revealed that he suffered the knock to his ankle while taking off his shoes.
Speaking to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, Sammy said: “I was taking off my wrestling shoe this past Wednesday. It was very, very tight and couldn’t get [the laces] out of the knot so I forced it off. Something in my ankle pulled a bit. A couple days later I feel it a little bit more. Then the next day a little more. Then on the day of the cruise I couldn’t walk on it! It had swollen and I’m limping around!”
Sammy had been set to have a match on the cruise against Jon Moxley. However, that match didn't happen, with Mox hitting the Spanish God with a DDT instead.
