AJ Styles Contract Expiry Date Revealed - Still Negotiating With WWE & Wants Reduced Schedule

The Phenomenal One wants a deal similar to Randy Orton's...

AJ Styles didn't appear at WWE Survivor Series 2018 - an event that he wasn't even present for. And since last night's show took place, two big details have been revealed about The Phenomenal One's WWE contract.

First of all, PWInsider have been able to reveal that Styles' contract with WWE runs out in April of next year. AJ is said to be still negotiating with the company on a new deal, though it's not 100% confirmed that he will actually put pen to paper at the time of writing. It's also said that the SmackDown Live man's earnings put him in the upper echelons of the company's wage bill, meaning that he couldn't come close to earning what he is now if he was to make a move elsewhere.

There is talk online currently that WWE are looking to lock their top talent down to five-year contracts - whether that is actually the case or not is certainly up for debate.

Next, a report from Fightful claims that it's contract renewal time for several WWE Superstars - and two of their sources have confirmed that Styles is in negotiations with WWE over a reduced schedule that resembles Randy Orton's, where he'd only work television and limited live events.

Fightful also say that one of their sources confirmed that a three-year deal is what is being discussed at the moment for Styles, and that he was the one who advocated dropping the WWE title on SmackDown Live last week due to the amount of time he's spent away from his family over the past year.
