AJ Styles Out Of Action With Broken Ankle

AJ Styles won't be in a WWE ring for a little while

AJ Styles is set for a stint out of action.

The 45-year-old has announced he suffered a broken ankle at a recent WWE house show but he will not require surgery.

"Just want you guys to know that I'm ok. Broken ankle is what I'm dealing with. No surgery, this just takes some time to recover. This will be the longest I've ever been out of the ring. Thanks for the prayers and get well wishes," Styles tweeted.

Fightful Select heard before Styles' announcement that he would be out of action for "months."

The two-time WWE Champion sustained the injury at a WWE live event in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 29. Styles immediately grabbed his left leg following an over the top rope spot and the referee threw up the "X", ending the match early. Styles was then helped backstage by Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Styles was in action on the show as part of The OC with Karl Anderson and Mia Yim to take on Judgment Day's Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley.
