Alex Shelley Issues 'Spoiler Alert' Amidst WWE Rumours

Alex Shelley teases his pro wrestling future

Alex Shelley leaned into rumours that he is WWE-bound over the weekend.

After wrestling at a West Coast Pro/Dealock Pro/Prestige Wrestling combo event in San Francisco on Saturday night, Shelley gave a "spoiler alert" update on his future, saying:

"Spoiler alert: I might not come back here. And if I don't, I know the future of pro wrestling is safe and sound inside a West Coast Pro ring. I have talked too long and the last thing I want to say is thank you so much for the last two and a half years."

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin - the Motor City Machine Guns - have been free agents since their contracts with TNA expired. It emerged that WWE and All Elite Wrestling were interested in signing MCMG and it initially appeared Shelley and Sabin would be heading to AEW. That talk has since died down, though, and reports last week noted the Motor City Machine Guns were expected to sign with WWE

Chris Sabin has never wrestled for WWE. Alex Shelley had a squash match in WWE back in 2005 and he had three NXT matches in early 2020, reforming the Time Splitters with KUSHIDA.

Shelley and Sabin aren't finished on the indies as of yet and they are scheduled for a match on August 18.
