Alexander Hammerstone, Tajiri Capture MLW Titles At Fightland

New champions crowned!

After 825 days, Jacob Fatu's reign as MLW World Heavyweight Champion is over.

The long-reigning champion went one on one with MLW National Openweight Champion Alexander Hammerstone in a Title vs. Title Match during the promotion's Fightland special on VICE TV on October 7. Both men fought back and forth for 20 minutes in a hard-hitting contest and Hammerstone eventually picked up the win with a TKO to become a double champion.

MLW had been building to the match for years as both Fatu and Hammerstone had held on to their respective championships for over 800 days. Hammerstone earned the world title shot with his win at Battle Riot III in July.

Former WWE Superstar and current AJPW star Tajiri also captured MLW gold during Fightland as he emerged victorious from a Four-Way between champion Myron Reed, Arez and Aramis for the MLW World Middleweight Championship.

Tajiri pinned Reed after spraying him with green mist and connecting with a Buzzsaw Kick.

MLW also revealed during Fightland that NJPW's Will Ospreay will make his debut later this year.
