Allegiant Stadium Still Preparing For WWE SummerSlam 2021 Amid Reported Cancellation Concerns

It appears Allegiant Stadium is still ready to host SummerSlam

Staff at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, are still making full preparations for SummerSlam 2021 at the venue despite reported concerns from within WWE the event could be cancelled.

Amid rising COVID-19 cases in Nevada and across the United States, it has been reported earlier this week that WWE officials had some very real concerns about SummerSlam 2021 at Allegiant Stadium being cancelled.

The worry revolved around the potential for a ban on mass gatherings being introduced in a bid to stop the rise of new coronavirus cases. SummerSlam is due to be presented on Saturday 21 August with 40,000 fans in attendance.

Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast is now reporting that a source at the Allegiant Stadium has told him that, while staff have heard the rumours, nothing internally has been discussed about SummerSlam not emanating from the Las Vegas venue.

The source is quoted as saying: "As of today [Thursday] the event is happening and we are prepping for it as we speak."

Fans in attendance for SummerSlam 2021 will, however, be required to wear a face mask, in accordance with a recent mandate passed down regarding large public gathers in the USA.
