Angelo Parker Feared He Would "Pass Away" In AEW Blood & Guts

Angelo Parker feared the worst during AEW Blood & Guts II

All Elite Wrestling’s two Blood & Guts matches have been some of the bloodiest and wildest bouts in AEW history, with the 2022 edition a particularly blood-spattered affair.

Pitting the Blackpool Combat Club, Eddie Kingston, Santana, & Ortiz against The Jericho Appreciation Society, the match was anarchic, and saw Claudio Castagnoli get the win for The BCC. During the match, "Cool Hand" Angelo Parker was busted open, and ended up hanging upside down through the cage truss as he bled profusely, a moment that Parker thought would see him "pass away":

"I bled so much. Yeah, I had stopped bleeding at [some] point and then I started doing that hanging upside down thing, and I'm just looking down and I'm just seeing it pouring out," Parker told the SwerveCity Podcast.

Parker did take time to reflect on the enormity of the match and the angle, and how he got to share the ring with so many former world champions:

"It's crazy to take a step back from that and realise what it was because it's going to be a constant thing, and the conversation was like, when you look at where we were not too long ago - a year and a half, I guess it was at that point, of us just trying to do this YouTube show just to stand out ... And then you're in this ridiculous match with four or five former world champions in there. We had Chris [Jericho], Moxley, Swagger/Hager - that's something," said Parker.
