Anthony Ogogo Was Meant To Have AEW Debut In London

The Olympic boxer was set to debut before a hometown crowd

Anthony Ogogo has had quite the start to his AEW career, with the Olympic boxing medalist set to face Cody Rhodes at Double or Nothing in what will be his second ever televised AEW match.

Now it has been revealed, according to AEW roster member Sonny Kiss, that Ogogo was originally set to have his AEW debut at Fyter Fest in London in 2020, before the Covid-19 pandemic changed everything.

Speaking at a signing at K&S WrestleFest, Kiss said the following:

“So we actually were supposed to be in the U.K. as of last year. So what was it? Was it Revolution [Fyter Fest]? So Anthony Ogogo’s debut was supposed to be in London. That was the original plan. We were supposed to have plans for London and also had plans for Canada, a couple Canada dates.”

Rumours have long swirled about AEW promoting shows in the UK, and will continue until an international tour is officially announced. With Canada and the UK being two of the hottest wrestling audiences outside of the USA, you can assume it’s only a matter of time before AEW makes their presence felt internationally.
