Apollo Crews Thinks Cristiano Ronaldo 'Would've Done Okay' In WWE

Cristiano Ronaldo might have taken bumps in a WWE ring in another life

As Cristiano Ronaldo weighs up his next career move following his departure from Manchester United, WWE NXT's Apollo Crews has admitted he thinks the five-time Ballon d'Or winner would have done "okay" in professional wrestling.

After being asked if Ronaldo could be successful inside the squared circle, Apollo told Metro: "Not with me here! Honestly, with that mentality to be a top athlete in the world on that level, I think just on the mentality alone he would've done okay. When you start the physical part, that's a different story, though, for most people. But again, [he's] a world-class athlete so I wouldn't put it past him."

Footballers transitioning to professional wrestling isn't unheard of, with Grant Holt and Tim Wiese having competed inside the ring after their football careers were over. Adebayo Akinfenwa was also recently set to team with Anthony Ogogo in PROGRESS Wrestling but he backed out at the last minute.

Ronaldo turning to professional wrestling is ultimately considered extremely unlikely and rumours suggest he will sign with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr in the coming weeks.
