Asuka Gives Update, Apparently Fine After Injury Scare At Live Event

Per her Twitter...

It was reported earlier tonight that Asuka was potentially injured at a SmackDown house show in White Plains, NY. Asuka took what one witness in the arena termed to be a "reverse flapjack" (which has since reported by Fightful to be a double underhook facebuster) from Mandy Rose and landed awkwardly.

The match was quickly halted and Asuka received immediate attention from trainers, as well as Fit Finlay. Ultimately she was able to walk out of ringside under her own power, while apparently favoring her head and neck, according to social media posts from those present in White Plains.

Asuka has since tweeted out an update on the situation, indicating that she was neither concussed, nor did she sustain a neck injury. The SmackDown Women's champion tweeted, "Hit my back but That's fine," while also apologizing for causing any concern.

Asuka is currently scheduled to defend the Women's title against Rose this Sunday at Fastlane in Cleveland. Assuming that Asuka indeed has the all clear from WWE's medical staff, the match will likely take place as scheduled.
