Athena Comments On AEW Debut

New AEW star Athena - previously known as Ember Moon in WWE - has reacted to her debut for the company at Double or Nothing last weekend.

The former NXT Women's Champion took to Twitter, saying:

"On top of the world!!! Still can't believe last night happened. Thank you. @aew for the extremely warm welcome. I promise you won't be disappointed!! I'm on a whole 'nother level now because I am #AllElite!! #FallenGoddess #TheAlpha"

Athena made her debut in the aftermath of Jade Cargill's victory over Anna Jay. With Cargill and the Baddies surrounding a fallen Anna, Kris Statlander rushed to her aid before Athena evened the odds to a loud reception from the live crowd. 

Fellow NXT alum Stokely Hathaway (Malcolm Bivens) debuted earlier in the same segment, distracting Jay and allowing Cargill to take advantage. 

AEW's plans for Athena are unknown at the moment, but having aligned herself with Statlander and Jay against Cargill, Red Velvet and Kiera Hogan, a TBS title shot doesn't seem out of the question.
