Austin Theory Admits He Didn't Mind Shortened WWE Name

WWE's Austin Theory talks about his shortened ring name under Vince McMahon.

In a recent interview on Graham 'GSM' Matthews' WrestleRant YouTube channel, WWE Money in the Bank briefcase-holder Austin Theory has revealed that he didn't mind his shortened ring name under Vince McMahon - and may have even preferred it.

Theory began going by only his last name shortly after WrestleMania 38, but seems to have reverted to the full version since Triple H took over creative duties in WWE.

Speaking on the changes, Theory said: "I actually like Theory. I really do like it. I really feel like if somebody was to look up 'WWE' and look up 'Austin,' we all know that 'Stone Cold' is probably going to pop up. I'd rather you put 'Theory WWE' – there's only one. So for me, I personally really enjoy being Theory."

Theory is currently still in possession of the Money in the Bank briefcase after winning it at the eponymous event in the summer. Despite several attempts to cash it in, he hasn't done so yet, and is currently embroiled in a feud with fellow ex-NXT Superstars Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano.
