Last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown saw a surprising appearance from an NXT name, as Axiom made his main roster debut. The former A-Kid in NXT UK has wrestled under a mask as Axiom since 2022.

On SmackDown, recent call-up Dragon Lee was requesting a match with Santos Escober following the former LWO member’s brutal assault on the legendary Rey Mysterio. Nick Aldis, the SmackDown General Manager, didn’t grant him his wish, but did hand him a match with another luchador wrestler, Axiom.

The pair have competed in multi-man matches together in NXT, but never in a televised singles match, with this being the first time. After showing respect with a handshake, the two men had a fast-paced, high-flying match which brought the crowd to their feet. In the end, it was Dragon Lee who scored the victory. It isn’t known whether or not this has marked an official main roster call-up for Axiom, though it should be noted that he did wrestle last month at a Main Event taping, so a permanent main roster run may not be far away.
