Backstage News On AEW Signing Alex Windsor

The latest signing from All Elite Wrestling was revealed over the weekend as Alex Windsor announced she was finishing up on the indies due to joining AEW. Windsor made the announcement after unsuccessfully challenging Syuri for the IWGP Women's Title at Pro Wrestling EVE's Hit Me Baby One More Time event.

Fightful Select's Corey Brennan has reported that the belief within the UK independent wrestling scene is AEW and Windsor have been in talks for "quite a while." The reaction on the indies in the United Kingdom was positive, with several noting that Windsor was deserving of the opportunity.

Alex Windsor began her career in 2009, being trained by the Knight family. She has been one of the top stars on the UK independent wrestling scene in recent years and is the partner of Will Ospreay.

Windsor has performed for Tony Khan's AEW and Ring of Honor before, including earlier this year when she unsuccessfully challenged Athena for the ROH Women's World Title at Global Wars Australia.
