Don't expect to see Axiom on SmackDown any time soon
On last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, a surprising name popped up on the show in the form of Axiom. The NXT superstar made his main roster debut in a match against Dragon Lee. This match was made by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis after turning down Lee’s request for a match with former LWO member Santos Escobar.
Lee would win a fast-paced and high-flying contest in just under 10 minutes. Axiom’s appearance led to some speculation that he could be main roster bound, though a report from PWInsider has shut that down, and also provided some more details on how his SmackDown appearance came to be.
Apparently, the decision to have Axiom on the show was extremely last minute, with it being decided on the day that he would be appearing at the blue brand. It is noted, though, that despite this appearance he is still internally listed in the NXT roster, indicating that this was just a one-off main roster night for the former A-Kid.
