In an unexpected surprise, it was revealed over the weekend that Big Boom AJ (AKA AJ of the Costco Guys) would be appearing on Wednesday's go-home edition of Dynamite before Full Gear.

This was a change in AEW's plans, according to Fightful Select, and the angle between Big Boom AJ and QT Marshall was never supposed to be featured on AEW's televised programming. The buzz around the angle led to AEW bringing the storyline to Dynamite, however.

Big Boom AJ is scheduled to make his AEW in-ring debut against QT Marshall on the Full Gear Zero Hour. Fightful noted that Marshall and Sonjay Dutt pushed for the match. AEW didn't want to have the storyline play out on TV, though, "so that talent on the show weren’t discouraged that the angle took up TV time."

Big Boom AJ has been promoting the match on his social media and in interviews ahead of Full Gear, something AEW have been very happy about. AJ and the Costco Guys have also reportedly been very respectful and one wrestler noted that it was clear AJ had been around wrestling previously.

AJ used to wrestle as Eric Justice on the Northeast independent wrestling scene in the United States. He was briefly ranked as the best wrestler of all time on Cagematch last week before his '10' ratings were removed.

Full Gear 2024 will emanate from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, November 23. Tickets are still available for the show.
