The October 12 edition of Monday Night Raw ended with Carmelo Hayes joining the 946 faction, and further details about his inclusion in the group have been revealed.
The main event of WWE Raw from Bossier City, Louisiana, saw Royce Keys and OTM face off with The Usos and Solo Sikoa, although the match ultimately ended in a no contest. This led to a post-match brawl and Solo Sikoa was about to deliver a Samoan Spike to Royce Keys when a masked figure attacked Solo from behind with a crowbar.
The figure then lowered their bandana face mask, revealing themselves to be Carmelo Hayes. The former WWE United States Champion helped up Royce Keys and 946 proceeded to lay out Solo Sikoa and The Usos to end Raw.
False Finish has reported that Royce Keys asked for Carmelo Hayes to be included in 946. This is similar to Keys reportedly personally handpicking Bronco Nima and Lucien Price of OTM for the stable.
Carmelo Hayes had been absent from WWE TV since the August 14 episode of Friday Night SmackDown when he unsuccessfully challenged Baron Corbin for the WWE United States Championship. Speculation about Hayes' WWE status was fuelled on Monday after he blacked out his X/Twitter profile picture.
946 debuted on the August 24 edition of Monday Night Raw and the stable has been featured in the main event picture ever since. WWE higher-ups reportedly see Royce Keys as a future world champion.
