Backstage News On How Long Kenny Omega Vs. Will Ospreay At AEW All In 2026 Has Been Planned

While Kenny Omega only became AEW World Champion for a second time at Dynamite Beach Break on July 8, plans had long been in the works for him to defend the AEW World Title against Will Ospreay at the All In pay-per-view.

Fightful Select has reported that sources familiar with the situation have been claiming since February that the expected plan all along for the main event of All In was Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay, so the match had been in the works for several months at the very least.

Kenny Omega defeated MJF to become AEW World Champion at Beach Break, while Will Ospreay earned a shot at the AEW World Title at All In courtesy of his Owen Hart Foundation Tournament win at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in late June.

There were rumours that, prior to Beach Break, there was an internal push for MJF to be added to the AEW World Title match at All In, but Fightful noted those rumours are false.

Instead, MJF has been planned for the Casino Gauntlet since before he lost the AEW World Championship for a third time, as has Andrade El Idolo. MJF will be #2 in the All In Casino Gauntlet, while Andrade will be the #1 entrant.
