Behind the scenes info on Scotty 2 Hotty's AEW appearance
WWE Attitude Era star and former member of the popular “Too Cool” stable Scotty 2 Hotty showed up in AEW last night for a dark match prior to the Dynamite taping. He teamed up with The Acclaimed to take on the team of Jake Hager, Matt Menard, and The Gunns in eight-man tag team action, helping to win the match.
Fightful Select have provided some information on this appearance, and revealed that this was something that had been in the works for some time, with the company considering him for matches in the past, though it has only come to fruition now. Scotty has reportedly been open to competing in the ring for AEW too.
It is also noted that AEW has the rights to the “Too Cool” entrance music, which he came out to. The report stated that the rights for this comes from the library that AEW licensed which also included the Hardy Boyz theme, which is used on AEW programming. It wasn’t revealed whether or not Scotty is expected to appear more in AEW going forwards.
