Backstage Reaction To Gunther Vs. Chad Gable Revealed
Gunther and Chad Gable received a lot of love backstage
On this past episode of Monday Night Raw on September 4, Gunther defended his Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable in a highly anticipated main event match, with the result seeing Gunther go on to become the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time. Both men came out of this match looking strong though, as the match was an acclaimed one.
It wasn’t just a positive reaction from fans though as the pair received a positive response backstage when walking through the curtain too. “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes on the Dale Jr. Download revealed the standing ovation given after the match.
“If you get a standing ovation in Gorilla, you’ve made it. Last night, Chad Gable and GUNTHER had this amazing main event, and they came back and there’s nothing we can do but clap for that piece of business… Chad did amazing last night and I do hope that Chad finds the Intercontinental Championship. His daughter wanted to see that and have that moment. I felt bad because they sent me out after to raise his hand and I’ve got to do the dark match … he is an amazing athlete.”
In a post-match interview, Gable revealed that he wasn’t finished with Gunther, perhaps hinting at another match down the line.
