New WWE signing Bailey Matthews made his NXT UK debut during last night's show from BT Sport Studios in London, England.
Matthews went one on one with Tyler Bate on the show and both men battled back and forth in an impressive technical wrestling match until the former NXT United Kingdom Champion picked up the win with the Tyler Driver '97. Bate then helped Matthews to his feet after the bout and shook his hand to end the segment.
Matthews is the son of NXT General Manager William Regal and he made his professional wrestling debut in early 2018. After a spate of matches for the UK's All Star Wrestling, he wrestled a couple of dark matches for PROGRESS and EVOLVE before heading to Germany in March 2019 for the wXw 16 Carat Gold Revenge tour and an appearance at WrestlingDeutschland II.
He appeared to be preparing for a career in New Japan Pro-Wrestling in early 2020 as he popped up as a young lion at Wrestle Kingdom 14, but he has since joined NXT UK.
