Bayley Injured, Expected To Miss 9 Months

Bianca Belair will be issued a new opponent

WWE has reported that Bayley has sustained an undisclosed injury in the midst of training, and is likely to miss around nine months of action.

Their report reads, "WWE Digital has learned that Bayley sustained an injury while training for her WWE Money in the Bank match against Bianca Belair and will be out approximately nine months.

"A suitable replacement for the SmackDown Women's Title Match will be announced tonight on FOX."

Bayley was set to wrestle SmackDown Women's champion Belair at Money in the Bank in an I Quit match. It was to be their third consecutive pay-per-view bout, following matches at WrestleMania Backlash and Hell in a Cell.

Bayley last wrestled on the June 25 episode of SmackDown, teaming with Seth Rollins to defeat Belair and Cesaro.

Over the past two years, Bayley had ascended to the role of perhaps WWE's top female heel, crystallizing her run with a SmackDown Women's title reign that lasted from October 11, 2019 to October 25, 2020, 380 days in all (the longest reign in the title's five year existence, by a span of over 200 days).

**UPDATE** PWInsider is reporting that the injury is a torn ACL sustained earlier this week.
