Professional wrestling in the United Kingdom and Ireland has been through a tumultuous period in recent years due to Speaking Out and the COVID-19 pandemic. The scene has started to rebuild since the beginning of 2022, with the likes of Ricky Knight Jr., Luke Jacobs, Leon Slater, and Big Damo, among others being spotlighted.

Many fans have stayed away following Speaking Out but Big Damo has thanked the fans who did return while praising the major companies in the UK and Ireland, stating that pro wrestling has never been safer in his 19 years in the industry.

"I know there are a lot of beleaguered wrestling fans in UK/Ireland, but the serious jump in professionalism in the major companies needs to be recognised. In my 19 years in wrestling, it's never been safer. I choose to be here for a variety of reasons & I feel incredibly justified. I know we won't win everyone back, but for the fans who have come back, thank you. I have had the absolute time of my life this past year, and I feel you have helped me find another level in ring. Major shout out to the incredible young talent forcing their way through right now. I will try and highlight exceptional young talent over the next few weeks on here. For any I miss, It is not a reflection on you if I haven't mentioned you, just I haven't discovered you or worked you yet," Damo tweeted.

Big Damo has been a regular performer in the UK and Ireland since his WWE release and he was recently the PROGRESS Atlas Champion, dropping the belt to Ricky Knight Jr.
