Bobby Lashley Reveals Vince McMahon Texts Messages During Time Away From WWE

Lashley departed WWE in 2008

Bobby Lashley has revealed the extent of his communication with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon during his time away from the promotion.

Lashley left WWE in 2008 following a hiatus, due to injury, but returned to the promotion in 2018. The All Mighty is enjoying arguably his best run in the company, dominating Raw as the WWE Champion.

The 44-year-old went into MMA during his time away from WWE but says he and McMahon would occasionally text during his decade away, with the boss always saying he and Lashley should work out together.

Speaking to Fightful, Lashley said: "I was heavily [into MMA] but there were times when Vince would reach out to me and send a text here and there. We've always had that common bond and mentality of working out. He would come down to Denver and be like, 'I'll be in Denver, we have to get a workout in.'

"We never really did, but it was a running joke and a possibility that we've talked about a few times. It wasn't one of those things where we talked consistently, just a few text messages over the ten or eleven years I was gone."
