Booker T Compares 'Shocking' WWE WrestleMania 37 Moment To The Streak Ending

"Let me tell you something, I was there, I saw it up close and personal. The fans were so shocked."

Booker T says the atmosphere he experienced inside Raymond James Stadium when Bobby Lashley beat Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 37 was similar to the shock from fans when The Undertaker's legendary streak ended.

In perhaps one of the more surprising results across WrestleMania 37 weekend, Lashley retained the WWE Championship against McIntyre in the opening match of Night One. There had been speculation that WWE would give McIntyre his crowning moment in front of a live crowd, but instead opted to keep the Title on Lashley.

Booker T was in attendance for the show, participating in the Kick-off Show panel, and says the attending fans were absolutely shocked when McIntyre failed to break out of Lashley's Hurt Lock.

The WWE Hall of Famer could only compare the atmosphere to the one at WrestleMania 30, when Brock Lesnar broke Undertaker's Streak at WWE's flagship event.

Speaking on The Hall Of Fame Podcast, Booker T said: "I don't know if that's what they wanted though (Lashley winning the match). Let me tell you something, I was there, I saw it up close and personal. The fans were so shocked. Literally, I thought somebody in the front row was going to die from shock.

"It was surprising but the air seemed like - I wouldn't say left the arena or anything like that, but everybody was shocked to the point where almost like The Undertaker's Streak was broken. That's the way it felt in the arena when Drew McIntyre did not break the Hurt Lock.

"Lot of people did not see that happening the way it happened."
