Booker T Thinks He Is Retired Following WWE Royal Rumble Appearance

Booker T considers his Rumble appearance his in-ring swansong

Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T believes his in-ring appearance in the 2023 Royal Rumble match could well be his last.

Speaking on his The Hall of Fame podcast, the former World Heavyweight Champion revealed that he considers himself retired following the surprise appearance.

"I'm gonna tell you right now, I think that was the last time people are going to see me in the ring. I'm going to work with my students, but as far as putting my boots on again, that was the last time," he said.

Continuing, Booker said that the thought made him sad, but that he couldn't imagine a better end to his career.

"It's kind of sad too. I'm kind of choked up about it a little bit. It was a great exit for me. I don't think it could have been better than that, but putting the old boots up, it's kind of hard. I think that was the last time putting on the boots and getting back in the ring at that level. I think that's the last time I really want to do it at that level. I don't think it can get better than that, seriously. I want to thank all the fans for that moment".

The 57-year-old noted that his Rumble appearance almost didn't happen and that his entry was a last-minute decision, presumably as a late substitution for the injured Rey Mysterio.
