Booker T Wants Original Doink The Clown To Be Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame

Doink, WWE Hall Of Famer?

WWE's latest Hall Of Fame ceremony is set to take place ahead of WrestleMania 38 on Friday, April 1 and The Undertaker will headline the 2022 class.

No other names have been announced for this year's class as of yet but Booker T said on his Hall Of Fame podcast that he would honour the original Doink The Clown - portrayed by Matt Borne - with an induction.

"I'm not against that one bit. Matt Borne in himself was a hell of a worker and had a hell of a career, as well as Doink The Clown, it's iconic. The original Doink The Clown, I loved it. So yeah, I would definitely give him the nod," Booker said.

Making his WWE debut in late 1992, the original Doink The Clown would be an active performer on WWE TV until late 1993. He even had a match at WrestleMania 9 against Crush.

Following Borne's release, he had a short-lived run in ECW as Doink and he continued to use the character on the independent wrestling scene until his passing in 2013. He also revived the role in WWE in 2007 for the Raw 15th Anniversary Battle Royal.
