Several WWE Superstars have been released today.
In a statement wishing them all the best with their future endeavours, WWE announced Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Murphy, Lana, Ruby Riott and Santana Garrett have all been let go.
Aleister Black has already commented on his release, tweeting: "Im gathering my thoughts as this was a complete left field for me as obviously we just started the dark father character but this was it, thank you so much WWE universe for allowing me to create and give you small bits of myself."
Big names were expected to be let go this week following a report from Fightful which noted WWE was planning more cost-cutting measures.
This is just the latest set of cuts WWE has instituted in recent months. Main roster Superstars Samoa Joe, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Mickie James, Tucker, Kalisto, Chelsea Green, Wesley Blake and Bo Dallas were all released in April. Cuts to NXT followed soon after and Alexander Wolfe, Jessamyn Duke, Vanessa Borne, Ezra Judge, Kavita Devi and Skyler Story were all let go.
