Santos claims Cage has been ‘lost in the shuffle’
Brian Cage’s wife Melissa Santos has said that AEW are misusing The Machine.
Santos took to Twitter to express her feelings on Cage’s current standing in AEW, saying:
“Brian Cage is a superstar. Those people who know him from the indies, Impact, Lucha Underground where I met him know that he is a superstar. All you have to do is google him and watch all of his matches. He’s a superstar and he’s being misused right now.”
With AEW bringing in a host of top tier talent recently such as CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, and Adam Cole, fans and critics have started to question whether the roster could be too bloated, and it seems that Santos - and by extension Cage - agree with the sentiment
Santos also posted a screenshot of an article that suggested Cage is being misused and should be on a Brock Lesnar like path of destruction through AEW, with Cage responding with a Fresh Prince of Belair gif, seemingly agreeing with the statement.
Cage’s run in AEW has been mixed. He has wrestled on several PPVs since his surprise debut at Double or Nothing 2020, but has often been on the losing end of feuds, with his and Ricky Starks loss against Darby Allin and Sting at Revolution 2021 the biggest example.
