Britt Baker References WWE Saudi Arabia 'Blood Money' On AEW Dynamite

"Maybe next week, AEW Dynamite can run in Saudi Arabia!"

Britt Baker cut a promo on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite, directly referencing WWE's working relationship with Saudi Arabia.

WWE agreed a ten-year deal with the Saudi General Sports Authority in 2018 which sees Vince McMahon host two live events a year in the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia. The deal and subsequent shows have come under immense scrutiny due to the curtailling of LGBT equality, surpression of women's rights and the killing of Jamal Khashoggi at the hands of Saudi agents in 2018.

A host of WWE performers now refuse to work the shows, with many more reportedly unwilling to travel to Saudi Arabia in the midst of the travel issues in 2019 following the Crown Jewel event.

With it well known that WWE is paid handsomely for the deal, despite the criticisms, AEW Women's Champion Baker has seemingly taking a shot at the arrangement.

Baker cut a promo on AEW Dynamite, expressing her unhappiness with last week’s tag match against Nyla Rose and Vickie Guerrero. Baker was put through a table by Rose while but Rebel ended up getting injured during the match.

Baker pointed out that the only reason the match occurred was because Vickie Guerrero was owed a favour after bring in Andrade El Idolo, before telling AEW President Tony Khan to enjoy his “blood money.

She then said: "Maybe next week, AEW Dynamite can run in Saudi Arabia!"

WWE is reportedly expected to return to Saudi Arabia for a show later this year, having not visited since early 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
