Bron Breakker Turns Heel On WWE NXT

Following fan reception turning against Bron Breakker in recent months, the former NXT Champion has finally embraced the boos, turning heel on the Tuesday, April 4 edition of NXT. 

Carmelo Hayes closed out NXT as he celebrated his NXT Title win with Trick Williams. Hayes praised Bron Breakker during a promo and invited him to come to the ring, which Breakker did, telling Hayes that he passed the torch to him, before the two men embraced. Breakker then raised Hayes' hand, only to suddenly deck the new NXT Champion with a lariat before he powerslammed Trick Williams and speared Hayes to end NXT. 

Breakker's heel turn comes after he dropped the NXT Championship to Hayes in the main event of NXT Stand & Deliver on Saturday, April 1. Breakker had the match won at one point, forcing Hayes to tap out to the Steiner Recliner, but the official was down at the time and Trick Williams took advantage, hitting Breakker with the NXT Title from behind. Hayes then followed up with a Codebreaker and his Split Leg finisher for the victory. 

Breakker has been a top star in NXT since the 2.0 rebrand in September 2021. He is a two-time NXT Champion.
