Bryan Danielson Comments On William Regal's AEW Departure

Bryan Danielson has shared his thoughts on William Regal's time in AEW, as well as his exit.

Speaking recently to Sports Nightly, Bryan Danielson reflected on William Regal's stint in AEW, as well as his departure.

"Some of the things that have also been really cool and really fun in this period that I’ve been in AEW are some of the surprises. Like William Regal coming to AEW and being part of the Blackpool Combat Club [...] There was a time period where I didn’t know if I’d ever see him again, and then I got to see him every single week, and we got to drive together and we’d come in and we’d show up early and we help train people together and that sort of thing. So when he left it was sad for me, personally, but I was grateful that I got to spend that time with him, right?"

Regal joined AEW shortly after being released from his WWE contract in early 2022, debuting at that year's Revolution pay-per-view. He formed the Blackpool Combat Club along with initial members Danielson and Jon Moxley, before betraying the group to help MJF defeat Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear 2022.

Regal confirmed his departure from AEW last December, and has since rejoined WWE in an offscreen role.
